FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH DIVISION OF MEDICAL QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVIDES ONLINE AUDIO ACCESS TO BOARD OF MEDICINE MEETINGS - US Fed News Service, Including US State News

The Florida Department of Health issued the following news release:

The Florida Department of Health Division of Medical Quality Assurance has made audio files of the Florida Board of Medicine meetings accessible online so anyone interested in Board meeting information may listen to Board and committee meetings at their convenience.

'We are very excited about online access to Board of Medicine meetings,' DOH MQA Division Director Lucy C. Gee, M.S., said. 'Floridians can take advantage of these technological advances and receive up-to-date information on the Florida Board of Medicine from their personal computers.'

The mission of MQA is to protect the public through healthcare licensure, enforcement and information. MQA, in conjunction with 22 boards and six councils, regulates six types of facilities and more than 40 health care professions. MQA evaluates the credentials of all applicants for licensure, issues licenses, analyzes and investigates complaints, inspects facilities, assists in prosecuting practice act violations, combats unlicensed activity and provides credential and discipline history about licensees to the public.
