FLORIDA HEALTH INSURANCE ADVISORY BOARD ANNOUNCES PUBLIC MEETING IN FT. LAUDERDALE ON FEB. 1 - US Fed News Service, Including US State News

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation issued the following news release:

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation announced today that the Florida Health Insurance Advisory Board (Board) will hold a public meeting Friday, Feb. 1 at the Ft. Lauderdale City Hall in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 2 p.m. The meeting will focus on innovations in the private sector that have worked to moderate health care costs. Costs can sometimes be reduced by developing health care products that offer innovative benefit designs, limit types of coverage, restrict networks, or offer other types of cost-controlling measures. Companies that have been invited to showcase their products include Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Preferred Medical Plan and Promedical Plan. The Agency for Health Care Administration, a state agency, will also give a status report on the Health Flex Program. A copy of the Board's agenda is available for review.
