The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation announced today that the Florida Health Insurance Advisory Board (Board) will hold a public hearing Monday, Sept. 17 at noon at 401 Senate Office Building, 404 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee. The Board will hear a presentation on expenditures of low-income pool dollars and other similar sources of funding for the care of uninsured persons; and the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) will present an update on its efforts to improve the transparency of health-care systems. The Board will review a draft of a report on Florida�[euro](TM)s commercial health insurance market, and it will consider a list of legislative recommendations that address various aspects of health-care reform. The Heritage Foundation, a public policy research organization, also will be making a presentation on its proposals for health-care reform. A copy of the agenda is available for your review.
