UNIVERSITY OF NORTH FLORIDA HEALTH ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM RECEIVES HIGHEST ACCREDITATION - US Fed News Service, Including US State News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 22 -- The University of North Florida issued the following news release:

The Masters of Health Administration Program at the University of North Florida achieved the highest accreditation of six years from the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).

'Our Health Administration Program has worked hard to be one of the best programs in the nation. Earning CAHME's highest accreditation of six years for the Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program indicates that we are developing and graduating future health care leaders that are prepared for the changing marketplace,' said Dr. Pam Chally, dean of UNF's Brooks College of Health.

CAHME accreditation is the benchmark by which students and employers determine the integrity of health care management education and establishes the standard of measurement for the world community. Prospective students know when they apply to this program, they are getting a quality program that meets high standards, both academically and practically.

'The leadership, faculty and students of the UNF Masters of Health Administration Program continuously strive for excellence, and the program's achievement of the CAHME's highest level of accreditation is an excellent expression of their great success,' said Gene Miyamoto, COO and EVP at St. Vincent's HealthCare System and vice chair of UNF's MHA Program Advisory Board.

UNF is one of only a few universities with an MHA Program that is accredited by the CAHME and a bachelor's of Health Administration that is certified by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration.

Alumni of the master's program report salaries that average over $68,000, with the highest being $150,000, during their third year following graduation. 'Accreditation let's students know that the time and effort they make earning their MHA is an excellent investment,' said Dr. D. Rob Haley, director of UNF's Health Administration Programs.

The MHA Program at UNF was founded in 1991 to provide a solid education in the knowledge, skills and values essential for students seeking entry-level management roles or seeking to advance in established careers within health services organizations.
